Maintaining physical fitness is critical to health. For the physically impaired this is even more true. Unfortunately so often trainers, coaches and facilities feel unequipped to incorporate these individuals into their programming. As a result the individuals who most need the training guidance don’t get it. This does not need to be the case. It only takes some knowledge to fill this gap.
To address this gap, I teamed up with Dr. Theresa Larson DPT, to design a course for trainers, instructors and coaches to give them the basic knowledge to adapt their programming to these individuals. With thousands of hours working with adaptive athletes, we have distilled the practice down to the essential knowledge needed for any professional to get started. We cover training approach, major impairment types, basic functional movement adaptations and basics such as talking to individuals with impairments. If you want to extend your work with the impaired population, this is the course to get started. Register here at The Ready State.
